Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP), about 913 ha in Tăng Nhơn Phú and Long Bình wards, hosts Samsung Electronics’ HCMC CE Complex, Intel Products Vietnam (its largest assembly and test site worldwide), Nidec, Jabil, Sanofi, Nipro and a growing semiconductor and R&D cluster. Around it: the Vietnam National University campus, the Linh Trung export-processing zones, the Long Bình metro depot and Suối Tiên terminus, and Vinhomes Grand Park — a 271-ha township with a 36-ha park in Long Bình ward. Old Thủ Đức market town has Kha Vạn Cân’s workshops and a metro station; Hiệp Bình is the riverside villa side; Cát Lái is the container port.

Does Thủ Đức City still exist?
Not as an administrative unit. Since 1 July 2025 its 34 wards became 12 wards under Ho Chi Minh City (Thủ Đức, Linh Xuân, Tam Bình, Hiệp Bình, Tăng Nhơn Phú, Long Bình, Phước Long, Long Phước, Long Trường, An Khánh, Bình Trưng, Cát Lái). People still say “Thủ Đức”.
