Tân Bình is the district the airport sits in — Tân Sơn Nhất’s three terminals, the airline offices, the Cộng Hòa office corridor and, on its western edge, the first industrial park inside the city. Since 1 July 2025 it is five wards: Tân Sơn Nhất (the airport and Trường Sơn), Tân Sơn Hòa (Hoàng Văn Thụ / Lê Văn Sỹ, the Phú Nhuận side), Bảy Hiền (the Bảy Hiền crossroads and the textile quarter), Tân Bình (Cộng Hòa, Etown, the Tân Bình industrial park edge) and Tân Hòa (Âu Cơ / Lũy Bán Bích towards Tân Phú). Not an expat district — but the place engineers pass through most.
Character
Three faces. The airport face: Trường Sơn and Hoàng Văn Thụ with hotels, the T3 terminal opened in April 2025 and 24-hour cafés. The office face: Cộng Hòa’s Etown complex (Etown 1–6, home to Bosch, DHL, Ericsson and many Japanese firms) and the Tân Bình industrial park and export-processing zone behind it on Trường Chinh. The local face: Bảy Hiền’s textile alleys settled by Quảng Nam migrants, Bà Hoa market (Trần Mai Ninh, since 1967) selling central-Vietnamese food — mì Quảng, bánh tráng, cao lầu — and Hoàng Hoa Thám’s electronics-repair strip.
Who lives here
Airline crew, logistics staff, engineers working at Etown or the Tân Bình IP, Japanese and Korean staff in serviced apartments along Hoàng Văn Thụ, and a large Vietnamese population. Families with children in international schools rarely settle here — the schools are 45–60 minutes away.

Bà Hoa market and the Bảy Hiền alleys for the best central-Vietnamese food in the city; Hoàng Văn Thụ and Cộng Hòa for Korean and Japanese restaurants serving the Etown crowd; Trường Sa / Hoàng Sa canal-side cafés on the Phú Nhuận border; airport hotels’ bars for a late flight. Nightlife is thin — Phan Xích Long in Phú Nhuận is 10 minutes.

Tân Bình is where the city’s freight forwarders, customs brokers and instrument importers sit — around the airport cargo terminals (SCSC, TCS) on Trường Sơn and along Cộng Hòa — which matters when a Keysight or Rohde & Schwarz unit is stuck in customs: the broker is 10 minutes from the bonded warehouse. Risks
- Traffic: Cộng Hòa, Trường Chinh and the Bảy Hiền / Lăng Cha Cả roundabouts are among the city’s worst at 07:00–09:00 and 16:30–19:30; the T3 access road added load in 2025.
- Aircraft noise under the flight path (Bạch Đằng, Hồng Hà, Cộng Hòa) from 05:00 to midnight.
- Flooding: Nguyễn Văn Quá on the Gò Vấp / District 12 border is a city priority hotspot; Trường Chinh and Âu Cơ pond in storms; the airport apron itself flooded in past storms.
- Industrial neighbours: the Tân Bình IP brings truck traffic on Tây Thạnh and Trường Chinh from 05:00.
